The Screw Factory Artists are excited to open their doors during this years Taste of Lakewood Event held at the building. This event is hosted by the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce and brings together 25 Lakewood restaurants. Many of the studios will be open during the event and artwork will be available for purchase.

This is a ticketed event. Please visit the Taste of Lakewood website for information on how to purchase tickets.

The Last Minute Market is usually the last Saturday before Christmas. Stay tuned for more info in the coming months. When the application for Last Minute Market is available in the fall it will be posted on this site.

This class will focus on wheel throwing and hand building methods in clay both separately and in tandem. Beginners will learn the basics of throwing cups, bowls and crafting handles. More seasoned students will learn larger forms such as serving bowls, vases and lidded vessels. Hand building functional forms such as trays will also be covered. Each class will include a demonstration however students are welcome to work independently on projects each week.

No refunds will be given without 7 days notice before the start date of the class. For example, the start date is March 21 therefore unless you contact me by Thursday, March 14 then you will not receive a refund. I cannot prorate the fee if you are going to miss a class. In the future I will have more classes and opportunities for make up dates however for this session I cannot offer make up dates. As classes expand, more opportunities will become available.

On Thursday, March 14th Gina DeSantis will be hosting a clearance sale of her ceramic wares. Her studio is located on floor 3 of the “Screw Factory” in Lakewood’s Birdtown neighborhood. She has been creating functional clay vessels for over a decade.

This one night sale includes older work, classroom demonstration pieces and “seconds”. Seconds are pieces with minor flaws that do not affect the function of the piece, nevertheless they are marked down. Shoppers can purchase individual pieces marked down 50-80% or fill one of two sizes of bags for $50 or $100. Last year’s sale was a huge success with more than half of the work selling out in the first hour.

The Last Minute Market & Screw Factory Open Studio takes place on
Saturday, December 15, 2012 from 10am to 6pm. Join us as over 100 sellers
and more than 25 studios present their beautiful, and giftable, art and
craft.

New free services for visitors include:
gift wrap from the Citizens Committee For The Lakewood Animal Shelter,
coat and parcel check from Western and Southern Financial, photobooth by
Blue Button Photo Booth.

Umami Moto will be on-hand in the parking lot, vending their modern asian
cuisine. The Templar Motor Cars display will also be open.

Studios with an orange Trick or Treat sign on their door will be passing out candy to kids in costume!

If you can’t join us you have one more chance on December 15th for the Last Minute Market. However please note, not all the studios open during the November event will participate in December.

The Templar Motor Car Factory Display will be open on floor 3.
